Conversation to Companion
Enrollment NOW OPEN for January 2027!
Conversation to Companion is a hybrid, live group coaching experience where adults (21+) will learn the art of conversation, friendship-building, and how to bridge the gap between the two.
Making and keeping friends is something you’ve struggled with for your entire life—but now that you’re an adult, it’s 2x harder.
You already know what the sting of loneliness and being outcasted feels like from back in grade school.
That feeling you get when you’re watching your peers make friends with ease, date, experience young love, have sleepovers, actually have a group to sit and eat with in the cafeteria. That concept of having a real social life feels so foreign to you; like a pipe dream.
Even though you’re an adult now, it feels like you’re that same kid in recess watching all of the other kids play a fun game of kickball, but you can’t play because you haven’t figured out the rules yet. And what’s worse? No body takes time to sit with you and explain the rules.
And when you ask for help, they say, “Having friends is as simple as being a friend.” But what if you don't understand how to be a friend the right way?
How do you get to or past the first conversation without it feeling awkward and surface-level?
How do you say the right thing so people will like you?
How do you know when you're not talking enough or saying too much too soon?
When are you allowed to call something an actual companionship vs. friendship vs. acquaintanceship?
You don't know the answers to these questions; all you know is that your connections always seem to fizzle out before they truly start.
Here’s the good news: It’s not that you’re bad, boring, or don’t have an enjoyable personality; you’re just struggling with the stepping stones that come before the relationship: the social skills that help you interact with people, the conversational skills that deepen the connection, and the relationship skills that keep things moving forward
That’s exactly what this program will help you learn how to accomplish.
I’m Caroline, your friendship coach and program creator.
I’m a full-time web developer/software engineer, but outside of that, I’m a part-time social confidence and friendship coach; the founder and owner of my business, The Introverted Misfit; and the organizer of The Right Fit Community, a social club for adults with social fears, differences, and difficulties based in the Auburn/Opelika area.
For decades, making friends, dating, and having a social life was a foreign concept to me. I didn’t quite understand why I struggled so much socially and why I was so nervous to talk to people, until I was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Level 1 as a teenager. My whole life started to make more sense after that: why I always struggled to make and keep friends, why social situations were so tricky and nerve-racking, and why I didn’t go on my first date until my early-twenties (which I bombed, by the way).
But eventually, I learned that social and relationships skills are something that can be learned with the right support and practice. I realized that having friends and building a social life was possible—and I didn’t have to be socially perfect to achieve it. Now, through my business offerings, including this annual group program, I help fellow adults with social differences and difficulties cultivate social lives that make them feel included and fulfilled—whether they have an autism diagnosis or not!
This hybrid program will teach you all the skills you need to form relationships and maintain them long-term, past the first conversation.
If you’re tired of potential relationships and friendships never making it past the initial conversation/meeting, this program is for you. Together, we’ll learn how to carry things from conversation to companion, whether it’s the relationship(s) you want are platonic, romantic, or otherwise.
